i guess if the elephant intended to kill you, you would be dead! watch out for the buffaloes - my college-mates dad was killed by one while taking pictures somewhere thereabouts.

e2d, i was charmed by this wild jasmin flower, looking through my camera and wondering about the idead behind the design and fragrance ... why should, what appeals to a bee, appeal to me ? ... things like that. ... then i turned a bit and there was this bull elephant with lovely tusks, coming slowly but surely towards me ... at about 40 feet, we both stood still for a while starring at each other ... then, i dont know why, the fella desided to take a left turn and disappeared into the bushes ... the bull, 'chose' not to kill me ... what an honour ! really ... i felt amazingly peacefull, just continue my work ...

hi david k, it was an awesome moment, to meet eyes with an asian bull elephant,on foot, they are so much more agressive than its counterparts in africa. nope, i could not get an ant shot, it was too thick and me all awe struck !

chinna, you are absolutely right, the elephant 'chose' not to kill me, it was just 40 feet away and theres no way i could have out run the bull.
yes, bisons (gaurs) are bloddy dangerous too, usually it happens when we cross a bush not knowing that theres a gaur sleeping inside it. its sad that your friends dad had an wild attack. thanks chinna, i try to be as alert as possible, never do casual walks with talkative friends inside the woods.
